Emma is by far my oldest friend. We grew up 5 houses down from each other and were born 4 months apart with parents in the same neighborhood friend group.
In elementary school we would walk to school together and shared many teachers. Our after school routine was always to go to one of our houses and play in the backyard on the swing-set, play wii games, or play with our dolls.
Emma and I had strong personalities in middle school and fell out of touch for several years yet now we are super close and FaceTime multiple times a week.
I value my friendship with Emma because of the close bond that we have where we do not need to talk when we are around each other and the fact that we live such similar lives that we blend into each others’ families with no effort. She even spent thanksgiving with my family at my aunt’s house!
Emma goes to Bulter University and the environment there is very similar to here at UD from one I can tell. Some of my other friends live at home and commute, or play sports in college, or do not go out at all so it is difficult for me to talk about college with them and expect them to completely understand whereas I know Emma will understand what I am talking about.
Emma is also one of my go to friends to take instagram pictures with because she is a video media production major in school so she loves videos and therefor she loves instagram (almost) as much as I do. We will drive around listening to her Spotify playlists finding a patch of flowers to lay in just for a picture which is something not all my friends would appreciate taking the time to do.
My favorite memory with Emma would have to be a very typical evening for us. We were hanging out before a National Honors Society event that evening and drinking coffee at our favorite place- Pete’s coffee- when we decided to go get sushi. We got all you can eat sushi and stuffed ourselves before we realized that we were late to NHS and had to make up some stupid lie as to why we weren’t there yet and sped over to school in her car while blasting music and laughing so hard thinking we were going to be in trouble yet we were completely fine and our teacher did not care at all.
